Recipe Tips & FAQs
What brand of yogurt do you use?
- Cow Dairy: whole milk Stonyfield yogurt
- Sheep Dairy: either Old Chatham Farms or Bellweather Farms
Can I use regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt?
Yes, but the sauce will be thinner. If using regular yogurt, start with ¾ cup and adjust for consistency.
Does this sauce work with hot dishes?
Absolutely! It holds up well and won’t curdle when spooned over warm grains, roasted meats, or sautéed veggies.
How do I adjust the consistency?
- For a Thinner Sauce: Whisk in 1 tablespoon of water at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- For a Thicker Dip: Use strained Greek yogurt.
Storage & Serving Tips
- Fridge: Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
- Freezer: Not recommended. Yogurt becomes grainy when defrosted.

Final Thoughts
If I’m being completely honest with you, I’m usually either too busy or too lazy to make a complicated sauce for a weeknight meal. That’s what I love about this sauce. It’s a minimal effort, max payoff type of vibe with ingredients that I always have on hand.
Us Americans are surprised by how many different meals can benefit from a yogurt drizzle, but go ask some of your Mediterranean or Middle Eastern friends, and they’ll tell you that they use it like a ballpark concession stand uses ketchup.
